To kick off the new year, and to get together during the winter break, the brothers of SigEp Cal Mu decided to go on a campout to Anza Borrego state park located in the Colorado desert of Southern California. The trip lasted from January 4th through January 6th. We stayed in at a nice open campsite within the park, and had an attendance of 17 brothers.

The trip itself was filled with great food, cooked by our very own brothers, from gourmet burgers to some high quality tacos! We also found ourselves on some grand adventures throughout the park. Two notable ones included a hike up a very steep ridge that surrounded our campsite, where a few of us brothers decided to head up to see the view that overlooked the plains of Anza Borrego.
The second adventure was our main group hike on the second day, that took us up to an Oasis. The hike itself was about 2.5 miles to get into the Oasis, which ended with a waterfall. Our curiosity took the best of us, and we followed the river to find even more waterfalls further up. Eventually though, we had to head back and from there the rest of the campout was met with a huge wind storm and a bit of rain. We ended up having to take down some of our canopies due to the wind almost ripping them out of the ground, but after a bit, the sky cleared up for some beautiful views of the stars.
We ended the campout with some games and hanging out around the campfire, and from there, I would say it was a successful trip and a great bonding experience enjoyed by all.
